I found about 5000 child implied nude and/or just disturbing pictures on a friend of mines computer. Is that illegal for him to own them? How do i turn him in? Will this actually be taken seriously or will they just smack him on the wrist.

Got to the police, child pornography is illegal and he would get in a lot of trouble.

If these are real pictures, you need to go to the police, however, you used the word ‘implied’ if that is used to mean computer generated graphics instead of real pictures the supreme court has ruled that they are not porn. That is the same if the pictures are real but the models are clearly of age posing as children. If that is so your friend still has a problem and needs help just hasn’t broken the law
Also, did you have permission to be in the computer? If not you may also be in trouble.
