Question by evangelion: WTF?!?! Child “Modeling” Sites!!?
So I’m writing a paper about women’s rights struggle and one topic for it is objectification through sexualization even at a young age, so I check out a teen modeling site to find some examples, link after link leads to child modeling sites and some of the young models, kids!, are pictured in pretty much questionable poses and in small and rather revealing clothes. Any parent would revolt at some of the images. I’m afraid to click any more links.
I know the law for child porn or what is considered that is quite blurry, but seriously, some of that stuff needs to be taken down!
Now that I’m on that topic, I’d really appreciate some feed back on why you believe sexualization of women at a young age is not a “real problem” or why such modeling sites are wrong. (Since I need feedback and a bias/view other than my own to be able to write a balanced paper, or try to)
I should post this question in a rewritten form in another section to get less biased answers since this is under Parenting right?

Girls have always been taught (from the age of two and up) that its important for them to be attractive (not in a sexual sense) but you know wearing fashionable clothing, clean teeth, amazing hair etc. Now its turned sexual, times have changed it’s no longer about just being physically good looking, but you have to be sexual and look sexual to make headway in this world, sadly this has trickled down to the children. Just take a look at what young girls are wearing these days, and I mean as young as 4 or 5, they’re wearing skirts that are short as underwear is, they’re wearing these ridciciouls “call girl boots” and skimpy shorts. Its everywhere, take a look around when your in a store or out in public you’ll see what I mean. I personally think sexualization of women as a young age is wrong, and are teaching them that they’re objects who are put on earth to pleasure men. Thats what the media is telling them, even when they’re barely out of diapers. Its a sick and sad society we live in.
