How can I get into the modeling industry?

Assuming you actually want to be a model……
Although you have not given your age, the best way is through an agency whether a child or an adult
For that all you need to do initially is send 2 or 3 clear snapshots to agencies along with your personal information. If they like what they see then they will get back to you and possibly sign you.

If you cannot get signed with an agency (and at 5’4″ it is unlikely) then you are going to have to go the freelance route and for that you need to get listed on a few of the many “modelling” sites.

These sites tend to be populated more by amateurs and you are also more likely to get a number of “weirdos” contacting you.

Go the agency route initially and see what happens.
